1st PROMISE Stakeholder event
1st Stakeholder Event successfully held on 20th of November in Dublin, Ireland.
Our PROMISE Partner TEAGASC organized a very successful 1st stakholder event in Dublin and offered either to participate in person or to participate via a webinar. This event took place in cooperation with the annual conference of the safefood Listeria Knowledge Network.
The morning sessions were dedicated to the safe food Knowledge Network whereas the afternoon to the PROMISE project. The whole event was complemented by a poster exhibition.
The key-note speech in the afternoon was given by the well-known Listeria expert Martin Wiedmann from the Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. His talk was about practical implications of recent research on Listeria monocytogenes.
Dagmar Schröder from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, Austria, gave a talk on a bug´s life - insects as carriers of Listeria monocytogenes.
Marion Dalmasso from the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Cork, Ireland, presented on the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in processing facilities across Europe.
Panos Skandamis from the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece, gave a talk on Listeria spp. in food illegally imported to the EU.
Lisa O´Connor from the Food Safety Authority in Ireland, expressed their know-how on crisis management with respect to Listeria monocytogenes.
Michael O´Mahony from the Seafood Protection Authority, Cork, Ireland, gave an overview on the European Food Safety Report on Listeria monocytogenes.
Edward O´Neill from the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Cork, Ireland, talked about the control of Listeria monocytogenes at processing facilities.
All these very interesting sessions were followed by more than 100 participants who personally were in Dublin and several participants who listened to the event via a webinar installation.
